Heading South ~ Florida to Isla Mujeres 2007

We finally left Key West and had a bumpy one day sail over to the Dry Tortugas where we spent one night before heading out for Isla Mujeres. The strong winds, the high seas and the effects of being on the edge of the opposing Gulf Stream made for a several-day bumpy crossing. Hey, we thought that a catamaran was supposed to be flat sailing and that the days of stuff sliding off counters were over -- ha ha, the joke's on us! The only good thing about the passage, well, there really are two good things: first, we sailed the entire way -- who wouldn't with all that wind -- and the second, we had Rob, Linda and Geno with us, not only to share watches but also trying to keep our spirits up. Well, after suffering through all that, we spent a few days and nights enjoying Isla Mujeres on the "other side" of Mexico. Once again, weather delayed our departure for another day, but heck, we couldn't complain -- Isla Mujeres is a great place to be "stuck."
